Author and creative Kabrena L Robinson facilitated this two-week camp and did it the only way she knows – impactful and fun! From affirmations, to yoga to storytelling, the kids got a chance to learn and bring out their creativity in many forms. Week one started outdoor at Petticoat Creek conservation Park and the kids had fun exploring and playing in the beautiful outdoors. This week ended with a day trip to the Pickering Museum and was not just educational but tons of fun too!
Week two we had the kids at the Audley Rec Centre in Ajax. This week they made fruit art, tye-dye, had sports day then ended off the week with a family picnic at Rotary Park! Hot dogs, burghers and ice cream gave the kids much joy! It was a fun and exciting summer camp for two weeks.
Our goal with our summer camps is to instill confidence, kindness and mindfulness in our kids so they are able to interact with each other in meaningful ways.
Thanks to the facilitators, camp assistants, youth camp councillors and the parents for a successful summer camp! Looking forward to next year!
